Full-arch Restoration with All-on-4®
Implant-supported dentures are a vast improvement to traditional, removable dentures due to their stability and comfort. And advancements in implant dentistry are streamlining the treatment process, reducing recovery time, and ensuring predictable results.
One such advancement is the All-on-4® method. This treatment option is less invasive than traditional implant-supported methods, and can often allow for the immediate placement of a temporary denture. Dr. Kruger is excited to offer the All-on-4® method to patients at his Oelwein practice.
What is All-on-4®?
All-on-4® is a dental implant treatment method designed for the attachment of a full arch denture with only four implants. The key to the All-on-4® method is tilting the rear implants to make use of the existing bone tissue, eliminating the need for bone grafting procedures, and thus reducing treatment time and cost.
You’ll enjoy these benefits of the All-on-4® method as compared to traditional full-arch tooth replacement options:
- Reduced treatment and recovery time.
- Minimal surgery since only four implants are needed.
- No need for bone grafting procedures to increase jawbone density.
- Placement of a temporary denture during the recovery period for patients who meet the requirements for immediate-load implants.
Am I a Candidate for All-on-4®?
If you’re missing all or most of your natural teeth on one or both arches, you may be a good candidate for the All-on-4® method. Because the implants are designed to take advantage of the available bone, this method is often a good choice for people who have experienced reduced bone density, which is common for those who have worn removable dentures in the past.
The All-on-4® Process
For all types of dental implants, the process begins with a consultation at our practice. Dr. Kruger will help determine if All-on-4® or another dental implant method is the best solution for your tooth replacement. He will explain all options and answer any questions you have so you can make an informed decision about your treatment. He will then create a treatment plan, customized to your needs and goals.
With the treatment plan developed, you’ll be scheduled for your dental implant placement. Many patients who qualify for treatment with the All-on-4® method also qualify for immediate load implants and will have a temporary denture attached before they leave their implant placement appointment.
The healing period is vitally important for the long-term success of your implant-supported denture, so you’ll visit our practice regularly during this time to make sure everything is healing properly. Once your mouth has fully healed, you’ll return to our Oelwein practice to have your permanent denture attached.
