Common Questions From Our Patients
How often should I go to the dentist?

We recommend you visit us every six months for regular checkups. It helps us stay ahead of everything that can happen to your smile. However, every patient is unique. In some cases, we may advise you to visit us more often than that. For example, if you struggle with gum disease, more frequent checkups can keep infection from reoccurring.

Am I a good candidate for dental implants?

Since each patient is different, it’s easier to answer this question when you come in for a consultation. It depends on the number of implants you are getting and if you have any bone loss in your jaw. If you are getting an entire arch of teeth replaced with implants, we may need to do a procedure that increases the bone in your jaw. However, that’s not always necessary, especially with an advanced technique that uses fewer implants. Bottom line, we advise you to make an appointment to find out if your smile is ready for implants.

What are some oral care tips?

You’ll want to brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes and floss at least once. Maintain a schedule of checkups every six months to stay on top of oral health issues. Avoid too much sugar in your diet, since that can increase the bacteria in your mouth and lead to cavities. Eat nutritious foods, such as apples, carrots, lean proteins, and calcium-rich foods. The right nutrients can strengthen your teeth and improve your gum health. We can discuss more personalized tips at your next appointment.
